The idea of Splash on Earth started in this park. In the summer of 2021, members of the FPFP gathered lots of people to come and paint on the asphalt. With a large community surrounding this park, this event became a huge hit and we brought it back in the summer of 2022. I had been a volunteer the past summer and decided to join it again. It was by far the best experience I had that summer. We had lots of people from all ages coming around to paint. We also did this fun little activity in which people had to correctly answer an environmental question to get a special color. All the kids enjoyed the game and learned something new. We had different competitions for different categories such as ‘Best abstract art or best message to the world’ At the end of the competitions there were fun prizes and treats. It was amazing to see all the art that the people had created, and the best part was it was environment-friendly which meant all the birds and other animals appreciated it too! It was a blast for not only the community, but also the volunteers who helped!
