Our eco-paint is made from rescued food waste that we source from local grocery stores. We developed the eco-paint recipe through trial and error and a series of community collaborations

All our events are posted on our website www.splashonearth.com and shared through social media or our newsletter. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn using @splashonearth. We regularly post about our upcoming events there.

Depending on the event, prior registration may be required, but generally our events are drop-in for everyone. Residents of all ages and abilities are welcome. Our youngest participant was 6 months old.

We are currently working on an eco-paint package that we can sell at our events and online. Currently, the only way to get your hands on some eco-paint is to participate in Splash on Earth events, so be sure to follow us on social media or register to our newsletter for upcoming events.

 

Splash on Earth is a Toronto based environmental not-for-profit that makes climate action fun and accessible to everyone. We rescue food that would otherwise go to waste and transform it into colourful eco-paint for asphalt murals, workshops and community events. Through art and hands-on experiences, we bring children, families, seniors and neighbours together to learn about food waste, biodiversity, the circular economy and climate change. Splash on Earth is more than environmental education. Our events create welcoming spaces where people can connect, play, create and feel part of their community. We believe climate action doesn’t have to feel serious or overwhelming. It can be colourful, hopeful and fun.

Donations can be made via our website by following the “Donate” button. Individuals can also purchase the merchandise available on our website or sponsor an event for their community.

We often use event photos on our social media and website to celebrate the creativity that comes out during our events and to promote environmental action. We also use the photos for grant applications and promotional materials. On some occasions we create photo albums for participants to view/download their photos and save their happy memories.

As soon as they are available, our merchandise can be purchased from our website and social media.

Yes the eco-paint washes off with the rain and when it gets absorbed into the soil, it helps plants grow. The eco-paint is also washable from clothes, shoes and other materials, however there may be times where the eco-paint may leave mild stains especially on pure white materials. Please remember that the eco-paint is made from food waste and some foods stain clothes. To remove difficult stains, soak your clothes before washing and if white you can leave out in the sun to dry. The sun will bleach the cloth.

Our paints are eco-friendly but not edible. Individuals with allergies to peanuts, gluten, wheat, or corn may experience an allergic reaction. Please test the eco-paint first before using it for a long duration, or wear glove and a mask.

All of our events are free to attend. Just show up and have fun!.
