Ana Cuciureanu
Executive Director & Founder
About: With a background that bridges architecture, biology, and community engagement, Ana loves connecting people to nature through hands-on experiences, art, and innovative projects. Professionally, Ana works at the City of Toronto in the Environment, Climate and Forestry Division, where she leads projects related to green infrastructure, climate resilience, and environmental program strategy. Ana’s work has been recognized through many awards, including the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
Expertise: community-centred climate initiatives, environmental education, green infrastructure, research, and emerging technologies
Ali Ahmed
Volunteer Training
About: A political science graduate, Ali has been with Splash on Earth since 2023 and has designed and facilitated training for Splash on Earth volunteers ever since. In addition, Ali has been heavily involved in Splash on Earth’s events and community engagement with other grassroots organizations. Ali is a Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW) by trade and has had extensive experience working with Refugee Youth during his time with Save the Children Egypt, as well as currently working in transitional housing with clients suffering from histories of chronic homelessness, serious mental illness, substance use challenges, concurrent disorders, trauma, and complex health and psychosocial needs.

Gogula Gowrishankar
Volunteer Coordinator
About: Gogula joined Splash On Earth’s core team in the fall of 2023 after a summer of volunteering at their events. She fell in love with their mission and wanted to help them spread environmental awareness within her community! She began her journey as a marketing team member and has since shifted toward volunteer management and coordination within the organization. Through her experience at Splash On Earth, she has gained valuable knowledge about the environmental impacts of climate change and developed strong leadership skills, all while finding fulfillment in giving back to her community.
Gogula is a high school student at Georges Vanier Secondary School, graduating in 2027, with aspirations of becoming an electrical engineer. She is enrolled in the STEM+ Program at her school and is also part of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM). Some of her hobbies include cross-country running, art, and her greatest passion of all, robotics. She is a member of FIRST Robotics Competition Team 9659, the Vanier Vikings. Within her robotics team, she contributes to the mechanical, electrical, and programming subteams. Additionally, she serves as a Scouting Lead on the Scouting and Strategy subteam. Through her involvement in numerous STEM initiatives at her school, Gogula actively advocates for women in STEM.

Aerelle Pakingan

About: Aerelle draws a superhero comedy webcomic titled Mean Spirit that explores themes such as parasocial relationships and gentrification. They have an advanced diploma in Graphic Design from Centennial College, and in 2024, they served as an arts workshop coordinator for the Kuwento Kreatives Storytelling Through Art & Philippine History program, run by Kamalayan Konsciousness. In the summer of 2025, they were one of the local artists for Splash On Earth, Inspiring Climate Action Through Art and Community Engagement.

Data Entry Specialist
About – Hetal currently handles data entry and bookkeeping for Splash on Earth, helping keep operations organized and running smoothly. Alongside this, she works full-time as a Customer Care Representative, where she supports customers and builds positive relationships.

Vidu Chandan

Marketing Coordinator
About: Vidu has a unique blend of experience in business and non-profit communications. She is the founder of the “Little Cameras Project,” an initiative that empowered over 200 children & youth from marginalized communities to explore self-expression and problem-solving through photography. From publishing impactful photo-stories and exhibiting her work to leading workshops for children at the famous Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Vidu has spent years using visual media for social good. She has also served as a scholarship panellist and guest judge for the V.E.S. Leadership Academy, and once hosted a free photography workshop during the pandemic for a global audience.

About: Michael brings extensive experience in project management, consulting, and volunteer work, including past contributions to organizations such as ShelterMovers, which supports individuals fleeing abuse, and HWF Ottawa, which provides essential items to newcomers and refugees to Canada.

Vihaan Ponakala
Marketing Team
About: He previously joined Splash on Earth when his little sister participated in the summer art contests in 2022. After seeing their cause and initiatives, he started volunteering in 2023, helping with their art contests and their Turtle House event. Throughout his volunteering experiences, he further appreciated environmental awareness, community initiatives, and involvement, and how art is able to inspire positive changes.

Woinishet Yeshitila
Legal
About: Woinishet Yeshitila is a lawyer by profession who has been advocating for human rights and environmental protection. She served the government, the private sector, the United Nations, grassroots-level community-based organizations, civil societies, and national human rights institutions. She managed multiple projects and will continue to advocate for a safer environment for all. She has earned her first degree in Law from one of the honourable government universities, a Master’s degree in Social Psychology, and an MBA.

Dinesh Kumar
Web Developer
About: Dinesh is a passionate web designer and developer with a strong interest in creating modern, user-friendly, and visually engaging digital experiences. He enjoys combining creativity with technology to build websites that are both functional and impactful. He is always eager to learn new tools, improve skills, and contribute innovative ideas to every project.

Egbaiyelo Moteniola
Web Developer
About: Monty is an advocate for sustainability, focusing on human interaction with the environment and with one another. Drawing from his background as a former environmental science major and exposure to frameworks like the Model United Nations, he joined Splash on Earth to contribute digital tools to community-led climate action. He views science and technology as potent players in global sustainability initiatives and catalysts for social change.
As an open source developer, Monty strives to contribute to collaborative and open improvements in current computing systems. Monty is an aspiring systems engineer pursuing a master’s in computer science at McGill University. He values structured thinking in systems and infrastructure and looks towards geographic information systems and cybersecurity in the coming technical age.
