This summer we experimented with running Splash on Earth in different parks to see how different communities engaged with this unusual, yet very fun environmental learning event. We didn’t advertise the event at all and I was a little bit afraid that nobody would show up, especially since Bellbury Park is a lot more secluded. But, to our surprise, within a few minutes after setting up we had several families join us and asking questions about the event, playing the environmental games and calling onto their friends to join us. What a warm welcome!!! Half way through I saw neighbours having deep discussions about the environment, economy, health and weather. This was also the first time Amy brought out the cushions which were entirely made out of unrecyclable materials. We were so shocked to see how well these cushions came out and how much people loved trying them out. Amy is a true eco-artist and she figured out how to turn another person’s garbage into a beautiful and useful product. Way to go, Amy!!!
